A Few Questions About Dystopia

How will we know when we’ve got it all wrong? Will black clouds of locusts swarm from the east? Or jackboots march with the sign of the beast? Or will the Devil just knock on your door with a smile, a slogan and a promise of more?

Just great Ben. has such a good rhythm to it, though of course it gives me the impression we’re already living through our own distopia, but perhaps it’s only possible to see it as such from the outside. Perfect short

Thank you so much Lynn. Yes, that’s what I was trying to say really. Dystopias, dictators etc, don’t shout ‘I’m your worst nightmare’ from the rooftops. They come disguised as your friend and you’re in them before you know it.

So right. Hitler didn’t come in terrifying the hell out of the people of Germany, he seduced them by telling them he could make the country great again, make it strong. You summed it up so well in so few words

And some people still don’t see, or refuse to acknowledge, or (more likely) are perfectly happy with, the parallels with Trump.

Absolutely love this, and so accurate in current times. I’m of the belief that we know the world is really ending when we ignore all the signs until one day, we look around and are stunned that the world is literally in flames.

Thank you for that! I agree, although I also think that every generation believes it is about to face its own Armageddon, but we always pull through. I suppose one day we won’t!
